Now Showing In Budapest: 'The Descendants'
"After the death of his wife, Matt must get reacquainted with his two daughters, 10 year-old Scottie and 17 year-old Alexandra. Alexandra lets him know that her mother was having a romantic fling at the time of her accident."

Movie type: Comedy Drama - This is a comedy-drama aimed at adults. Fans of George Clooney will enjoy this showcase for him though some other known co-stars as Robert Forster have less screen time. This is a more gentle film than director Alexander Payne's previous films. Despite the prominent presence of a teen and pre-teen character, constant language and adult subject matter make the film inappropriate for kids.

Director: Alexander Payne

Writer: Kaui Hart Hemmings

Script: Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon, Jim Rash

Starring: George Clooney (Matt King), Shailene Woodley (Alexandra King),
Amara Miller (Scottie King)

Length: 1 hr. 55 min.

Reviews:
Berardinelli, Internet Critic: “Very Good The Descendants delivers what too few recent movies achieve: intellectual stimulation coupled with emotional satisfaction. By default, that makes it one of 2011's best offerings.”

Roger Ebert: “Excellent What happens is that we get vested in the lives of these characters. That's rare in a lot of movies. We come to understand how they think and care about what they decide.”

USA Today: “Excellent It's a precarious balance, but Payne blends wit and poignancy so artfully it feels like an exquisitely choreographed dance.”

Chicago Tribune: “Excellent It's lovely — funny and sad and funny/sad in ways you can't always pinpoint, capturing both the perpetual Pacific island breezes and the unsettled interior lives of Hemmings' characters, ... “
