Invitation: Hungarian Chinese Karaoke Competition In Budapest
A small union has formed within the Chinese community In Hungary, due to the substantial increase in Chinese population here over the past few decades. Members of this union are largely business owners (both large and small), who have come together with the purpose of providing various entertainment opportunities to Chinese citizens in Budapest. These opportunities include but are not limited to sharing cultural information, coordinating activities, organizing competitions, and so on. Ever since 2009, the Chinese Karaoke Competition, organized by the union, has been a favorite hotspot for Chinese residents in Budapest.

The karaoke competitions are becoming more and more popular; this event now hosts professional judges, presenters, singers, and also has sponsors providing financial as well as popular support. The competition in 2011, the last one held, was held in the Ezer Sárkány restaurant, where approximately 20 participants competed through preliminary and final rounds over the course of two days, battling in both popular and folk singing categories. Lavish prizes included a 32-inch LCD TV for third place, a laptop for second place and a round-trip ticket from Budapest to Beijing for taking the crown.
