Obama Officially Announces Bell As New U.S. Ambassador To Hungary
President Obama has announced his intent to nominate Colleen Bradley Bell – Ambassador to Hungary, Department of State, which the White House describes as a key Administration post. XpatLoop reported at the end of September that Bell’s vetting process had apparently been concluded, and only formal Hungarian approval was required before her appointment. "She raised more than $500,000 for the Obama campaign, according to its disclosure of campaign bundlers. According to the New York Times, the actual figure was more than $2.1 million by the fall of 2012", Variety.com recently reported.

"Bell is the latest top fundraiser to be named to an ambassadorship. Others from Los Angeles include John Emerson, former president of Capital Group Private Client Services, who is now serving as ambassador to Germany, and political consultant Noah Mamet, who has been nominated as ambassador to Argentina. James Costos, a former HBO executive, is serving as ambassador to Spain", added Variety.

Colleen Bell is a Producer for Bell-Phillip Television Productions, Inc., a position she has held since 2012. Prior to this position, Ms. Bell was the Director of Special Projects and an Associate Producer and Script Supervisor at Bell-Phillip Television. She served as General Trustee for the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from 2012 to 2013.

Ms. Bell currently serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Children’s Institute, and a Trustee on the Boards of Directors of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Los Angeles Music Center. She is a founding member of the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Leadership Council and also serves on the advisory board of the UCLA Rape Treatment Center. Ms. Bell received a B.A. from Sweet Briar College.
