Inflation In Hungary At 0.1% In March
By David Landry: March 2014 was yet another month of low inflation in Hungary, with the Central Statistics Office (KSH) today reporting consumer prices increasing by 0.1% year-on-year. Decreased prices in utilities, motor fuels, clothing and consumer durable goods were offset by rises in alcohol and tobacco.

Month-on-month, inflation was up 0.2%. Prices in most main product groups fell in twelve months, while they were up in a monthly comparison, except for unchanged household energy prices.

Going forward, the regulated price cuts mandated for April which will reduce retail natural gas prices a reported 6.5% will affected next month’s statistical reading but more apparent effects will show in May, KSH’s Borbála Minary informed national news service MTI in relation to the statistical release today.
