Hungarian Town Debrecen To Host First Ever WASBE Regional Conference
The World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE) will hold its very first Regional Conference between July 6 and 14 in Debrecen. WASBE chairman and Dean of the Faculty of Music at the University of Debrecen, Mihály Duffek, said the association had chosen the venue partly because Debrecen was the first Hungarian city to offer conducting master classes and had a rich tradition in military bands.

Since 1981 the association has organised conferences on a biannual basis, with the host site rotating between continents.

This very first Regional WASBE Conference is jointly organised by the East European WASBE Section and the City of Debrecen.
