Hungarian Youth From US, Canada Meet HR Minister
Human Resources Minister Zoltán Balog met young Hungarians from the United States and Canada, participants in the ReConnect Hungary programme, in Budapest. Balog said his guests were third or fourth generation Hungarians, who no longer speak Hungarian, but for whom there is “still space in their hearts for the country”.

Balog said the 15 programme participants could become “ambassadors” of Hungary in the US or Canada. The minister said the participants he had met echoed “prejudices about Hungary created by the Western European media”, and that they were mostly interested in the situation of the Roma community.

The government has contributed 8 million forints (EUR 26,000) to the current visit’s budget, while the entire programme costs several hundred million forints, Balog said.
