Xpat Review: Millennium da Pippo, Budapest
From his home in Syracuse, Sicily, the owner of Millennium da Pippo learnt a lot about food. Since he was a small child, his grandmother taught him how to prepare wonderful dishes of fish, meat, pasta, and pizza with the heart and passion of his homeland.

Just a couple of minutes walk from Oktogon square down Andrassy street, you won’t quite get the sun and the sea, but what you will get is the taste and atmosphere of the southeasterly part of Sicily. So it is not surprising that you will find a lot of Sicilians tere.

With its original Italian cuisine and décor, this is a little slice of Sicily recreated with an ease and style that you would expect from this classy nation. In an age where everyone is trying to make more and more complicated dishes, what is great about this place is that it does the simple things very well.

The genuine Italian cuisine offers Sicilian specialties to your taste. My favourites are pizza Siciliana, tortelloni with spinach ‬and gorgonzola cheese, spaghetti with salmon and cream, and tiramisu. With the waiters throwing in a bit of the dialect, you could almost be in Syracuse.
