More Than Half Of Fidesz Local Election Candidates Have Collected All Sigs In Hungary
More than half of the Fidesz candidates in the upcoming local election have collected the required number of supporting signatures in a single day, the ruling party’s managing deputy chairman said on Tuesday.

Lajos Kósa, clarifying previously published data, said that the party has 1,130 gubernatorial candidates and all had participated in the signature collection which is a requirement to stand in the election, and among these, 640 are Fidesz-Christian- Democrat candidates while the others are independents running with the support of the ruling parties.

The number of local council candidates overall totals 4,127, and among these 2,506 are campaigning in Fidesz-Christian-Democrat colours while the rest have the support of the governing parties, he noted.
