Hungarian Cabinet Is Planning To Monopolise Alcohol Retail
The cabinet is planning to restrict the sale of alcoholic drinks to specialised stores from next year, similar to its reorganisation of tobacco retail last year, Napi Gazdaság has learned from government sources.

The now finalised concept is based on the re-regulation of tobacco retail, and consultations with interested parties have begun, the daily reports.

Hungarians consumed 13 litres of pure alcohol per capita last year, according to figures from the World Health Organisation.
