Hungarians Spend Little On Life Insurance
While customers across Europe spend 1,124 euros on a life insurance policy a year, the Hungarian average is below 150 euros, the Hungarian Insurers’ Association (MABISZ) told MTI on Thursday, citing fresh figures from Insurance Europe.

The highest amounts, 3,000-3,500 euros, are spent on life insurance in Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark and the UK, while clients in Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria or Latvia pay less than 100 euros, MABISZ said.

Hungarian insurance companies earned 810.2 billion forints (EUR 2.6bn) last year, including 432.7 billion forints from life insurance policies. The latter sector in 2013 was lacklustre but a slight upturn is apparent this year, MABISZ said.
