First Electric Taxi Rank Opened In Budapest

Budapest’s first taxi rank with an electric charger was opened in Graphisoft Park in the Third District yesterday with the help of Budapest Taxi. The taxi company provided the equipment, and Graphisoft Park the electricity.
Budapest Taxi now has three electric cars in its fleet, and plans to set up e-taxi ranks at the airport and near Andrássy út, said CEO Csaba Horváth.
The government is considering a minimum quota for electric cars in the fleets of taxi companies, Economy Ministry state secretary Béla Glattfelder told the opening ceremony.
