Hungary's PM Orbán Did Not Tell MPs About Internet Tax
Speaker László Kövér admitted in a corridor of Parliament on Monday that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán did not inform governing party MPs about the internet tax before the plan was made public, nor was there any preliminary consultation on the matter.

Kövér said the Fidesz executive did not know about the internet tax either, but added that the executive should instead define what strategy to follow.

The cabinet only devoted five minutes to the internet tax at a meeting, he noted.

The Fidesz caucus believes that the internet tax is a big mistake, the newspaper adds. It says party MPs “feel deeply hurt”, as they only learned of the tax via the media.
