Book On Hungarian Holocaust Presented At Tom Lantos Institute
It is an ongoing task to keep alert coming generations and ensure that the Holocaust should never happen again, state secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office László L Simon said at the presentation of a new book about the Hungarian Holocaust in Budapest’s Tom Lantos Institute.

The book entitled “Hungarian Holocaust 70 - Losses and Responsibilities” has been published with the support of the Civil Fund set up by the Hungarian government on the 70th anniversary of the Holocaust in Hungary.

Addressing the event, Simon said that the history and culture of Hungarian Jews are inseparable from the history and culture of the Hungarian nation on the whole.

The volume includes 13 studies about, among others, the Holocaust of ethnic Hungarian Jews beyond the borders, dramatic changes in the schooling conditions for Jewish children between the 1930s and 1948, and left-wing resistance during the Holocaust.

An epilogue lists persons who recognised in advance the approach of the Holocaust.
