Flood Of Refugees In Hungary Continues
Police captured 1,040 people who entered Hungary illegally on the weekend, most of them on the southern borders, National Police spokeswoman Viktória Csiszér-Kovács told reporters on Sunday.

She said illegal immigrants spend a few days in jail after their capture, while they are questioned. Most of them say they are refugees. They are then taken to refugee camps where they have full board.

Proceedings to assess their claims take four to five months before a court decides whether they are entitled to refugee status or whether they are economic migrants.

Immigration Office head Zsuzsanna Végh said asylum seekers tend to leave Hungary after months of proceedings.
