Self Store Budapest Boasts More Than 1,000 Renters
Hungarian self-storage company Self Store Budapest has more than 1,000 customers six years after starting business in the Hungarian capital, and it expects to double this number in five years, managing director Márk Ablonczy said. The company has 15,000 square metres of storage space in three buildings but it will open a self-storage “plaza” in the north of the Hungarian capital with almost 17,000 square metres of space in the spring.

Rental fees for the units generated more than net 200 million forints (EUR 641,000) in revenue for the company last year. More than 90% of the units were rented out.

Pre-tax profit came to about 60 million forints in 2014. Ablonczy said the company had invested 4 billion forints in its selfstorage business.

Self Store rents a two-square-metre unit in the city for about 10,000 forints per month. A seven-square-metre unit goes for about 20,000. Ablonczy estimated demand for approximately 50,000 square metres of self-storage space in Hungary.
