Vágvölgyi gave an account to Index in November of his punishment while in the army for smoking a cigar in the communist era.

He mentioned in passing that his cellmate was Áder, who Vágvölgyi said had received a 30-day jail sentence for shooting his gun while drunk.

Some hours later Áder wrote that he was jailed twice while in the army, first for refusing to order his subordinates into a courtyard in shorts and T-shirts on a chilly morning and a second time for falling asleep while on guard duty after having secretly watched World Cup football matches at night.

Áder is suing Index and Vágvölgyi for Ft 1 million each and demands that they publish the future verdict.

He argues that the false claims could damage public confidence in him and his position. (index.hu; MH p.2)
