Budapest To Get Government-Sponsored New Business School To Compete With IBS And CEU
IBS and CEU Business School, the capital’s two already existing business schools, could be joined by a new institution soon, a government resolution published in the country’s official journal Magyar Közlöny suggests. According to the business newspaper Világgazdaság’s report, the government supports the establishment of a new business school in Budapest and is ready to provide its founders with a building currently belonging to the National University of Public Service (NKE) at Ménesi út 5. in District XI.

The property is currently home to the university’s Faculty of Public Administration, which would be relocated to Ludovika tér in District VIII, to the building of a former vocational training school.

Orsolya Horváth, the university’s press chief, told the paper that the property is to be returned to the Hungarian state and the faculty’s further operation at the Ludovika Campus will be provided for, adding that the new business school is to be established by the business sector and not under the auspices of the state-run National University of Public Service.

The leaders of several ministries have been commissioned with fulfilling the requirements of operation of the new business school. The government resolution includes no exact deadlines, with the establishment of the new institution also depending on the relocation of the two other institutions affected.
