David Böhm & Jiří Franta @ Budapest Art Factory
Budapest Art Factory (BAF) is delighted to introduce the project of its July 2015 artist residents. The Czech artist duo, David Böhm and Jiří Franta, have spent a month at the premises of BAF which period ends with a solo exhibition. The show is open to the public until 19th of August, 2015 and can be visited by appointment.

The year 2006 marks the formation of the Böhm-Franta collaboration, which is seen as the continuation of a rewarding cooperation. The artists do not restrict their practice to a specific medium, their versatile portfolio ranges from drawing, painting, illustration to giving performances, creating videos and installations, occupying public spaces.

Despite their multidisciplinary approach, a common denominator interlaces the aforementioned: the importance of the creation process along with the sitedness the pieces manifest in and communicate with. During their Budapest residency they channel their efforts to express the above by depicting small objects and 3D installations and incorporating new elements in their body of work.

Böhm and Franta are based in Prague, Czech Republic. Both creators graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, acquired numerous book awards for their designs and illustrations, and were awarded international residency grants in Austria, Germany and USA.

Their art is represented by the Nevan Contempo (CZ) and Jiri Swestka (DE) galleries. Recently they had solo exhibitions at the Nevan Contempo Gallery, City Gallery Cheb, and have been involved in the drawing triennial at the Jozef Kollár Gallery (SK).

On view until August 19, 2015 (visitors are welcome by appointment)
