Hungarian Tax Agency Employees Suspected Of Smuggling
Tax authority NAV should apply zero tolerance against its employees who break the law, the economy ministry said in a statement. The ministry issued its statement after reports that 18 tax officers are suspected of cigarette smuggling. All members of NAV, an agency which collects 93% of revenues to the central budget, must be irreproachable and fully abide with the law, the statement said.

The 18 suspects, if proven guilty, must face the strictest punishment possible under the law, the document added.
