'US businessman George F. Hemingway has obtained an 80% stake in cash-strapped football club Honvéd,' Zsolt Kiss, minority owner of the remaining 20%, told Magyar Hírlap on Thursday.Hemingway, who owns the Bonbon Hemingway sweet shop chain, reached agreement with Kiss after brief negotiations, though Kiss said the price of the 80% stake is 'a business secret'.
Their first priority is to get the Bozsik stadium into proper condition by upgrading the stadium, laying a new grass running track, and renovating the lockers and stands and other rooms. Until work is completed Honvéd will play league matches at the Csepel stadium."
