Nigel Kennedy, Budapest Sportaréna, 14 December
The ”rock star” of classic music in Budapest. On 14 December Nigel Kennedy, the virtuoso violin and viola player will present his LP introduction tour, titled The New Four Season. The artist also made it into the Guinness Book of Records as performer of the biggest selling classic LP, and now in Papp László Budapest Sports Arena he performs the revisited version of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

Nigel Kennedy might as well be called the rock star of classic music. The British violin virtuoso does not approach classic music in the classic sense though: he conquers the world’s largest concert halls with his vigorous and uniquely daring style and music – he already played at public and private events of the British royal family, as well as at the concert of The Who.

He also made it into the Guinness Book of Records as performer of the biggest selling classic LP, for two years he led the classic British charts and he is also the performer of the most popular Bach, Beethoven, Berg, Brahms, Bruch, Mendelssohn, Sibelius, Csajkovszky and Walton recordings. Kennedy considers it his mission to familiarize as many people as possible with classic and modern „classic music” – especially the youth – and considering the number of his fans, he is definitely on the right track to achieve this goal.

The violin and viola artist already toured all five continents; the The New Four Season Tour entails experiences of several years and thousands of performances, to introduce the evergreen music of Vivaldi from a uniquely new aspect. The tour arrives in Budapest on December 14 and Kennedy will play together with Zoltán Kiss, Zoltán Sándor and Gyula Váradi – having debuted in the Virtuosos.

Concerts:  Monday 14 December. 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Tickets are available in the network of Interticket and at www.concertbudapest.com
