HUF 100mn Scheme Lures Back 52 Expats To Hungary
Only 52 young people have returned from England to work in Hungary in the framework of a programme on which the government has spent Ft 100 million, news website Index reports. Of the 3,500 people who registered on the programme’s website, only 412 of them filled in the necessary statements.

Of those, 52 now work in Hungary, although 1,208 jobs were available at 125 partner companies.

Index notes that the cabinet has spent nearly Ft 2 million for each young Hungarian lured home.

Last year alone, 80,000 Hungarians took up work in Germany and 55,000 in the UK.

Data suggests that about 500,000 Hungarians have left to find work elsewhere in recent years, Magyar Nemzet writes.
