British International School Evacuated Again After New Bomb Threat

The school in Budapest's 3rd district, which employs a raft of British staff and educates children of multiple nationalities, received a call on 19 January saying a bomb had been planted inside. BISB told XpatLoop, “At 8.15am this morning we received a phone call informing of a bomb threat. In line with our school policies, we informed the police and immediately evacuated the school to ensure the safety of all our students and staff. All students and staff were moved to safe locations." The school was evacuated by terror police on 9 December last year over a similar threat, and fortunately no bomb was found.
The British International School of Budapest also confirmed to XpatLoop that, "The school was declared safe by police at 11.05am and the school has re-opened. Students have returned to classrooms and school has resumed as normal."
The school continued, "The welfare of our students and staff is our utmost priority. All threats to our school are taken very seriously and we are continuing to work closely with police, who have taken charge of the situation.”
The Budapest police department has launched criminal proceedings due to 'public danger' posed by an unknown offender, according to a force spokesman.
