Hungarian National Bank To Withdraw Old Notes
MNB will withdraw the Ft 20,000 bank notes, that were issued before 2015, from circulation at the end of the year, it was just announced. The banknotes can be exchanged and converted at Magyar Posta offices until January 2020. New Ft 20,000 notes with enhanced security features were issued last year.

After the MNB announced a renewal of all banknotes in 2013, new Ft 10,000 notes were issued in 2014.

The estimated cost of the changeover – which will continue until 2018 – is Ft 14-16 billion.
