More Hungarians Have Savings
The proportion of Hungarians who were able to make regular savings rose to 55% from 33% two years ago, according to a survey of internet users by fund manager Budapest Alapkezelõ.

However, only less than a third of these had investments, while the majority kept their savings in their accounts without yielding interest or in cash.

Brokerage scandals hampered household confidence in investment tools last year, but the trend has reversed, according to the survey. At present some 70% of the respondents have confidence in investment instruments, with state bonds being the top pick.
