Hungarian Telephone Corp. Announces Election of Director

"Hungarian Telephone and Cable Corp. (AMEX:HTC) today announced that its Board of Directors has elected Ole Steen Andersen as a director of Hungarian Telephone and Cable Corp.'s Board of Directors to fill the vacancy created by the recent resignation of William E. Starkey. Mr. Andersen will also serve on Hungarian Telephone's Audit Committee."
