Due to the VAT drop on poultry meat in Hungary from the beginning of next year, poultry consumption may increase by 5%, Attila Csorbai, the director of Hungary’s Poultry Products Council, told daily Magyar Hírlap today.
The VAT rate on poultry meat is being cut from 27% to 5%, which will not only raise consumption, according to Csorbai, but will also strengthen demand for more quality poultry meat. The director added that the VAT reduction on eggs could bring the biggest saving for producers.
