Hungary’s October 23 Schedule Finalised
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Polish President Andrzej Duda will speak at the official October 23 remembrance ceremonies this year. No other heads of state or government will be in Hungary to mark the 60th anniversary of the Uprising.

Related official events will begin on October 22, with the royal crown on display in Parliament from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A remembrance will start at the University of Technology at 3 p.m. on October 23, followed by a torchlight procession to the statue of József Bem on the Buda riverside, retracing the steps taken by protesting students 60 years earlier.

A flag-raising ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. on October 23 in the presence of Orbán, President János Áder and Speaker László Kövér.

The House of Terror museum will be open free of charge on October 23.
