Gays Plan Protest Against Local Decree
Gays and lesbians are organising a Saturday demonstration against a decree issued by the local council of Ásotthalom, run by Jobbik mayor László Toroczkai, that bans the wearing of burqas and the open acceptance of homosexuality.

The town near the Serbian border would impose a Ft 150,000 fine on those who popularise same-sex marriage.

Hungary’s LMBT Association said the decree seriously challenges the freedom of assembly and religion.

The Association will provide buses to take people to the demonstration outside the town hall at 10 a.m. Saturday.
