Tárki: Xenophobia At All-Time High In Hungary
Xenophobia has reached an all-time high in Hungary, while the percentage of Hungarians expressing openness towards foreigners is approaching zero, a Tárki poll reveals. The majority of Hungarians openly reject all asylum seekers and barely more than a third of them would be ready to consider such requests. Tárki has surveyed Hungarian opinion about foreigners for 25 years.

At the height of the refugee crisis in October 2015, the pollster found that 36% of respondents would reject all asylum-seekers, 4% would accept all of them, and 60% would evaluate requests for asylum.

Last month, 60% said they would reject all refugees, 36% would assess asylum requests and 2% would admit all refugees.

In July 2014, the respective numbers were 39%, 51%, and 10%.
