5 Top Juice Bars In Budapest
When the capital is sweltering and you need to take cover from the summer sun, what healthier place to hide out than a refreshing juice bar? From simple OJ's to incredible fruity combinations and ice cold carrots, Budapest has a spectacular range of juice and smoothie bars. Quench your thirst for freshness with @expatsintheloop guide to the best juice joints worth visiting whether your a health freak or not.

Juicy

The former Juicy on Dob kept odd hours. Many a time I’d walked my wee Maltese dog Morris down the street (I live on Dob) in the vain hope of getting my hands on some fresh sweet nectar, only to find the place shuttered up and closed. The new location however is always there when I need it and the staff cheerfully let Morris run amok behind the serving counter. They chuck just about every fruit and vegetable going into their quality juices, and as a bonus you can also find boxes of free apples at the front door.

Go for: 'The Hangover Cure'
Go to: Madách Imre út 12, 1075 Budapest

The Juiceline

With the old Juicy never seeming to be open I was always on the look out for other juice bars, and this fab joint down at Nador street more than fit the bill. I found it by accident one day when wandering around downtown in the fifth, just walked straight in grabbed a numbered bottle, and have been a fairly regular customer ever since. Although the place can sometimes resemble a hospital, what with it’s almost all white interior, Juiceline constantly delivers a welcome punch to your tastebuds.

Go for: 'The 7403' (Pineapple, citron, apple & mint)

Crazy Fruits

In the swanky part of the 13th district, the area that resembles Clintion Hill more than Budapest given the expensive prams and overpriced cafes, it is still worth the effort to hunt down Crazy Fruits. While this place doesn't come cheap it does serve chilled juices that are just about the best I've ever tried. It’s a rare treat but an unforgettable one none the less. All the drinks - and food - are made from raw ingredients, so it’s the perfect place to stay in shape over the summer.

Fruccola

A favortie of a couple of my friends - I have yet to set foot in the place I have to say - I aim to swing by soon even though the 1550 HUF price tag for a 0-5 juice seems a little steep, however the place does come highly recommended. "You can visit for breakfast, lunch or a snack. Lot of vegetarian and vegan options also. The juice bar has a wide variety of options and staff is very friendly and helpful," is an example of recent positive feedback by Dhaval from India.

(I’ll) go for: 'The 36' (carrot, apple, orange).

Vegacity

I cycle past this little restaurant every day on the way to work and it’s a healthly establishment I am dying to try. As well as offering a variety of juices, there is also a chance to try their mouth watering daily menu. Health conscious expats (not all of whom are vegetarians) swear by this place, here's what Ann (from Malta) says, "Right opposite the Central Museum, very interesting menu of vegetarian food and smoothies. Efficient service with a smile, reasonable prices."

(I’ll) go for: The 250 ft apple juice
