Restaurant Review: Zoska - Much To Tweak
Written by Mr. Yuzu. We ordered Vienna sausages (not the green slimy ones you get in a can in the States,) American pancakes (pancakes) and a 4 egg white and 1 whole egg scramble with tomatoes and green herbs...

In a perfect world, the sausages are filled in thin intestines and they are quite long and thin. When you bite into it, it gives way with a satisfying popping sound that the skin makes.

These sausages were not like that. I got 3 medium sized pieces which were obviously some medium quality brand. The mustard was also some cheap mustard.

The kifli (crescent moon shaped Hungarian bread) was fresh. There was a little salad on the plate as well, with no dressing. I’m not a rabbit! Why are you giving me dry salad!? All it would take is a coffee spoon of olive oil and a slice of lemon. Not that hard.

The pancakes were perfectly cooked but there is much to tweak on the batter.  They were on the dry side. The jam that accompanied the hotcakes was blueberry. Definitely not homemade. It would have been much better to make some compote out of frozen fruit. I’m sure it would have stayed within the budget as well.

I did not taste the eggs but they were watery. Not a good quality in eggs if you ask me. Apparently, they didn’t taste like much either. 🙁

We also ordered tea and a Chai latte. The Chai latte was made from some sort of powder. It tasted good but it was pretty dang sweet. Not as sweet as the cocktail at Jamie’s Italian though. All in all this breakfast was very average in every aspect. It was pretty cheap though, so I guess we got what we paid for. In that context, it is good value for money.

The place is a bit eclectic and cute, with seats in the windows and bookshelves lining the walls. Service was good. We got everything we asked for in a timely manner.

As soon as I saw the place I remembered that I’ve been here before. Now I remember why I didn’t return.

Ms. Salty Says:

It’s a cute place. I liked the books, the colors and it has a really cozy vibe. The staff was okay. I don’t have any particular complaint, I just love when people are smiling at me. They made me the 3 egg whites + 1 egg scrambled eggs.

It was a bit watery, a bit plain. I appreciated the willingness for serving what I asked and I think here was the cheapest ever. I ordered the herbs-tomato flavor. I got a fresh kifli on the side.

The tea was okay. The pancake was okay. In general, everything was okay. For the price, it was good. I’m sure they can improve and become a nice place to hang out in the morning, I’ll check back later.
