Economy Ministry: Tax Regulations Eased On Renting Out Homes In 2018
Long-term lets will be exempt from health contribution payments, and simplified tax payment on short-term lets can be used on three homes instead of one from next year, the economy ministry said.

Revenues over an annual 1 million forints (EUR 3200) originating from long-term property rental will be covered by 15% personal income tax but without a health contribution from 2018, the ministry said in a statement.

The tax requirement on shortterm lets, including airbnb, is annual 38,400 forints per room, and this will be applicable to three homes per person from 2018.

The two measures is expected to leave 3 billion forints in the pockets of taxpayers and they are expected to significantly whiten the market, the ministry said.
