"Alstom accused Budapest transport company BKV of conspiracy in an appeals trial in Versailles near Paris last week. A lower French court in Nanterre reprimanded the BKV for illegally cancelling a contract with Alstom last December.The French company accused the BKV and Budapest council of deliberately obstructing co-operation in an attempt to torpedo the existing contract and clear the way for a Ft 65 billion deal with a Russian company.
Budapest mayor István Tarlós, who is currently in Georgia, was reportedly “astonished” when CEO of BKV István Kocsis and Budapest transport centre CEO Dávid Vitézy briefed him about the developments over the phone.
Tarlós will give a press briefing upon his return to Budapest."
