AmCham Conference In Hungary Focuses On Workplace Diversity
"On November 15th, Lt. Col Darla Stencavage spoke at the 4th Annual AmCham Conference on Diversity which looked at diversity as a pillar of competitiveness and the work-life balance of women. Currently, the employment level of women in Hungary is one of the lowest in the EU.

Lt. Col Stencavage herself is a working mother, raising six children three of whom are adopted from another country. She spoke about the importance of educating yourself on other cultures and committing to programs to increase the acceptance of diversity in the workplace.

The Lt. Col. also spoke about the many opportunities that the U.S. Army has provided to her, emphasizing the value and the importance of diversity in the workforce. Describing her first assignment in the U.S. military, she said: “I was often the only female in a platoon full of males from other parts of the United States and we had to all figure out ways to work together and get the mission accomplished.”

She spoke of the Army Diversity Office vision of investing in and managing talent, valuing individuals and developing culturally astute Soldiers and Civilians who enhance our communities and are prepared for the human dimension of leadership and global engagements.

At the conference, the American Chamber of Commerce awarded Csilla Vizvári with the Women of Excellence Award. Read more on the AmCham web site."
