"The Budapest Transport Company BKV is advertising for stand-in drivers during the planned strike on September 4. Deputy CEO Miklós Regőczi said yesterday that some 100 people have applied for the positions so far.Regőczi asserted that “employing outside workers is legal, because BKV simply wants to ensure adequate services on a day on which trade unions refuse to work.” BKV utilises more than 1,000 bus drivers on a typical weekday. The in-house unions deem the move “outrageous and illegal.”
