'Budapest Festival Orchestra', National Concert Hall, 11 September

Share |
"Giovanni Sollima was born into a musical family in 1962 and studied cello in Salzburg, before continuing compositional studies in Stuttgart with Milko Kelemen. Since then, he has pursued twin careers as performer and composer; as a cellist he has performed with the likes of Martha Argerich, Claudio Abbado and Giuseppe Sinopoli. His compositional language is a bold mix of classical music, jazz, ethno and rock. "
