U.S. Congressional Delegation To Honor Raoul Wallenberg In Budapest
"On Friday, February 24 at 3:45, a U.S. Congressional delegation led by Representative Dan Burton (R-IN) will take part in a commemoration ceremony at the Raoul Wallenberg statue in Budapest’s II district. Speaking on behalf of the delegation will be Representative Gregory Meeks (D-NY).


Other speakers will include Ministry of Foreign Affairs Political Director Dr. Peter Sztaray and Chargé d’Affaires of Sweden Eddy Fonyodi. Media are invited.

Location: Wallenberg statue, Szilágyi Erzsébet fasor, at Nagyajtai utca (between Nagyajtai utca and Júlia utca in II. district)

Time: Friday, 3:45 p.m. Please arrive by 3:15 for a mandatory security check.

The congressional delegation led by Representative Burton includes Representative Meeks, Representative Ruben Hinojosa (D-TX), Representative Terri Sewell (D-AL) and Representative Frederica Wilson (D-FL).

While in Budapest, the delegation will be meeting with government officials, members of parliament, business and religious leaders and NGO representatives to discuss the economic situation in Europe and issues relating to U.S.-Hungarian relations. In addition to Budapest, the delegation has visited Brussels, Slovakia and France."
