"As has already been reported, Malév restarts its New York service - closed down for the quiet winter season - from 2 May, according to the normal summer schedule. From 2 May the Hungarian national carrier again provides a direct air link between Budapest and New York, initially flying five times a week and then from 12 May on a daily basis. Departure and arrival times have been timed to ensure excellent connections to the route networks both of oneworld partner American Airlines and of Malév.
A new feature is the addition of the Malév code to at least 15 domestic flights operated by American Airlines, thus allowing Malév passengers to fly with a single ticket, making just one connection and under favourable terms to, for instance, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Washington, Cleveland, Chicago and Dallas.
Until the route restart in May Malév continues to provide its passengers with a daily link between Budapest and New York via Zurich flying American Airlines.
