"When Erin and Garrett hook up, their intentions are to have a few fun and frisky weeks before she heads back to grad school in San Francisco and he stays in New York City. But when Erin’s about to board a plane for home, they both realize they have developed deeper feelings for one another, and they don’t want whatever it is they have together to end. So, they decide to give the ’long distance thing’ a go."Movie type: Romantic Comedy - Unlike all of Drew Barrymore's other romantic comedies, this one is a lot more raunchy and has a lot more profanity. As such, language, sexual situations, and sex talk give it more male appeal and make the film inappropriate for children. Fans of Barrymore, leading man Justin Long, and supporting players such as Christina Applegate will have plenty to enjoy.
Director: Nanette Burstein
Script: Geoff LaTulippe
Starring: Drew Barrymore (Erin), Justin Long (Garrett)
Length: 1 hr. 43 min.
Reviews:
Berardinelli, Internet Critic: “Good Going the Distance doesn't get all of this right, but it captures enough for us to believe the characters and their situations.”
Chicago Tribune: “Good ...director Nanette Burstein keeps the banter fast and loose. The atmosphere is deliberately low on polish; the way cinematographer Eric Steelberg lights the interiors, the romance has to fight to assert itself.”
Dallas News: “Very Good Barrymore's fluid ease with comedy is a marvel, and both she and Long have truthfulness in everything they do.”
