Hungarian Cabinet Frees Ft 100mn For European Swimming Tournament

The National Resources Ministry will send the funds to the Hungarian Swimming Federation, which will have to give an item-by-item accounting of how it uses the money, to be examined by the governmental supervisory body Kehi.

The cabinet also plans to speed up the payment of EU funds to flood-stricken areas, Nagy said. Over Ft 10 billion worth of EU funds could be transferred to the affected areas. Local governments will only have to provide 5% of the total to obtain the aid.

The cabinet would like to see as many unemployed people as possible hired in large numbers when utilising flood-relief funds."
