Hungarian Recipe Of The Week: Ground Pork Meatloaf
"Serve hot or cold, with any kind of thick soup, mashed potatoes or fresh made salad.

Ingredients for about 15 slices:
2 pounds ground pork
2 eggs
20-30 g salt
1 tsp black pepper
2 Tbsp Hungarian paprika (made in Kalocsa or Szeged)
1 small onion (finely chopped)
4-5 cloves of garlic (chopped)
2 tsp marjoram
3-4 Tbsp breadcrumbs
lard or oil
breadcrumbs

Preparation time: 30 min. + 50 to 60 min. baking time

Difficulty:

Preparation: Preheat oven to 150 ºC.

Place the ground pork in a large bowl. Add eggs, chopped onion and Hungarian paprika. Flavor it with salt, black pepper, marjoram, and chopped garlic. Add breadcrumbs and mix well, to get a thick mixture. Lightly grease a 26 cm baking pan, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, and pour in the pork mixture. (You can leave it flat, or you can form a loaf, and then place in the ovenproof dish.) Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until the middle is done. Cut it in the pan when it is ready.

Serve hot or cold, with any kind of thick soup, mashed potatoes or fresh made salad.

Hint:

Season it according to your own palate.
Instead of baking it in the oven, you can pan-fry it in a skillet. Form patties or meatballs, and coat with breadcrumbs. Fry in hot oil; turn once, and drain on paper towel."
