Hungary Graphisoft Appoints New CEO

Hungary Graphisoft Appoints New CEO
"Graphisoft, developer of ArchiCAD the award winning Virtual Building solution, has announced on Tuesday that its Board of Directors has appointed Viktor Várkonyi as the company's new chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Dominic Gallello, who has served as CEO for the past five years, is handing over the helm to Viktor Várkonyi.

Gallello “successfully put Graphisoft back on a dynamic growth path and led the company through major transitions including the acquisition of Graphisoft by the German Nemetschek Group," commented Chairman Gábor Bojár.

Viktor Várkonyi comes from Graphisoft's Product Group, where he was responsible for driving all product strategy and engineering activities.

Viktor Várkonyi joined Graphisoft in 1992 as a software engineer. He has continued to deliver breakthrough technologies, including a globally unique 3D editing environment for model-based design software in 1998. He has held various executive positions at Graphisoft and most recently led the company's product development. Várkonyi holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the Budapest University of Technology."
