"Hardwares, softwares, signal frequencies, consoles and plugs… All indispensable tools and phrases of computer usage and communication via Internet; keywords from the basic vocabulary of the digital age. But do we really know their meanings and exact definitions? Could we illustrate them? Do we understand the precisely aligned operation of the physical and logical joints and adjustments necessary for data transmission? What exactly goes on between controller and adapter and input and output units? Under the supervision of Júlia Bársony, the students and alumni of the Mohogy-Nagy University's Media Institute now attempt to create a living reconstruction of these communication processes and operations, based on philosopher and essayist József Tillmann's writings on informational hierarchy theory. By giving it a real physical location, they animate the structure of the new website www.harmadikhang.hu of Third Voice Company and bring the virtual libraries of its contents to life.
In the so-called libraries of the long-unused 3rd floor of the Corvin Store, visitors get a chance to become part of a special 'fine arts action', which undertakes to apprehend how the flow of information works with personal experiences. The performative 'offline-online museum-like website hiking' called InterPlaces, presents the company's 7 years history through its art productions.
It recalls previous performances with installations, projections, and live scenes with the purpose of commemoration and reconsideration. In the corridors, the System Administrators draw the route of the exhibition, evoking both past and future. Their game is communication, their presence is guidance and possibility to enter main and sub-directories, and their transport is an amazed gaze at the mazes of the matrix system. the ultimate control is in the hands of the Users…
