"Jewellery worth millions of forints was stolen from a shop in a “ram raid” in Győr’s Plaza shopping mall on Saturday. The two robbers drove a white VW Golf through the locked doors of the mall, which was closed for the August 20 national holiday.One robber wearing a ski mask broke the window of the Orex jewellery shop with a hammer and looted the contents in about one and a half minutes.
His accomplice turned the car around in the mall and drove out through the shattered door.
Two security guards were on duty at the time of the robbery, but one was in the toilet. The other was in the control room but heard nothing due to the noise of a generator.
The car had a stolen Slovak license plate."
