Labour Code Allows Instant Dismissals In Hungary
"Employers will be able to sack employees with immediate effect under the code MPs passed in a Socialist-initiated roll call ballot yesterday. Opposition MPs dissented against the new code, which will come into force on July 1, 2012, replacing one passed in 1992.

“Employees are unacceptably vulnerable today,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said, adding that “unions will barely be able to defend workers… therefore the cabinet will bear the main responsibility for them”.

Politics Can Be Different (LMP) MP Virág Kaufer later told reporters that the gov-ernment wants to make wage slaves out of Hungarian employees with the new labour code.

“Many people will work for much less in the future,” said Kaufer, who appeared at the press briefing with her hands tied together."
