Now Showing In Budapest: 'Nine'

Now Showing In Budapest: 'Nine'
"A vibrant and provocative musical that follows the life of world famous film director Guido Contini as he reaches a creative and personal crisis of opic proportion, while balancing the numerous women in his life."

Movie type: Musical Romantic - This musical film is, not like the commercials are making it out to be, a cheery romp like Chicago though it's from the same director. It's a more serious and downbeat musical. Fans of some of the female stars, particularly Nicole Kidman and Fergie, may be disappointed by their very limited screen time. Mature themes make the film inappropriate for children.

Director: Rob Marshall

Script: Anthony Minghella, Michael Tolkin, Federico Fellini, Ennio Flaiano, Tullio Pinelli, Brunello Rondi

Starring: Daniel Day-Lewis (Guido Contini), Marion Cotillard (Luisa Contini), Penélope Cruz (Carla Albanese), Nicole Kidman (Claudia Nardi)

Length: 1 hr. 50 min.

Reviews:

Berardinelli, Internet Critic: “Good Nine is entertaining (particularly when someone is singing), but this isn't on the crowd-pleasing level of a Chicago or a Dreamgirls.”

USA Today: “Average Nine has glamour. Rome looks fabulous, as does Daniel Day-Lewis, zipping around in his Fiat in dark shades, skinny tie and slicked-back hair. But there's no substance beneath the gloss.”
