"This year an even nicer and bigger Main Stage is serving international stars at Sziget Festival. Fulfilling a special wish by Prince, the new venue will also feature a ten meter long runway.
More than 30 trucks delivered the building blocks and light/sound equipments of the festival's Pop-Rock Main Stage to Óbudai island. The stage gets a new look this year and also changes its size. To make sure you get a special experience already on day 0, a runway is attached to the construction for the Prince show. Another change is that the led walls on both sides of the stage will be doubled, so you can watch the gigs on two 60 m2 screens. Lighting technology is also unique, no other stage in Hungary has ever featured so many intelligent lamps. Prince is going to add even more extras with a led cage, consisting of 96 lamps in the background.
And something for the ears: in order to have an even better sound quality, four delay towers spread the music to the crowd, presenting the world leading digital technology of Meyer Sound. No surprise that Prince's crew was also happy with the technical background they found here at Sziget Festival.
The stage is set to host the 7-time Grammy winner on day 0, but also features Gesztivál (a Hungarian special by Peter Geszti and friends) on day -1, Pulp, The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Thirty Seconds to Mars, White Lies and a lot more."
