"The competition was announced by the Ludwig Museum Circle of Friends, the National Philharmonics, and the Göböri Márkus Mari Concert, who expected new works of art reflecting to different movements of Musorgsky's 'Pictures at an Exhibition'. The only constraint was that the work cannot be larger than 3 square metres; but applicants could choose the technique and the materials used freely.
