"The Foreign Ministry yesterday rejected criticisms levelled by Slovene Prime Minister Borut Pahor regarding Hungary’s new Constitution and several other laws, as well as of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.“Once the Hungarian EU presidency is over, we shall isolate politically Hungary, absolutely,” Pahor told an off-the-record meeting with Slovenian journalists on May 28.
His comments were reported by the opposition Slovene Democratic Party.
Pahor has indicated that he wants to clear up the matter in a personal meeting.
Foreign Ministry undersecretary Gergely Prőhle told Slovenian ambassador Darja Bavdaz Kurett last Tuesday that Hungary rejects Pahor’s remarks and expects Slovenia to respond.
Pahor gave a letter addressed to Orbán to the Hungarian ambassador in Ljubljana on Monday, and indicated that he wants to clear up the matter in person to preserve good bilateral relations."
